And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

在伯利恆之野地裡有牧羊的人, 夜間按著更次看守羊群。 有主的使者站在他們旁邊, 主的榮光四面照著他們, 牧羊的人就甚懼怕。 那天使對他們說:"不要懼怕! 我報給你們大喜的信息, 是關乎萬民的。 因今天在大衛的城裡, 為你們生了救主, 就是主基督。 你們要看見一個嬰孩, 包著布, 臥在馬槽裡, 那就是記號了。"
